The initial consultation is free. Not "free" as in a discovery call that turns into a sales pitch at minute twelve — free as in you can take the advice, do nothing, and we both got on with our day.

What the business does, where the work comes from now, and what made you get in touch. No preparation needed — you already know all of this.

I ask about capacity and margins
Unusual questions for a website call, but they matter. There's no point winning you more enquiries if you're already turning work away, or if the extra work isn't the profitable kind.

I give you my honest read
Including "you don't need to spend anything yet", or "the cheap fix is X, do that first". If there's something worth doing, I'll follow up with a written fixed price. If there isn't, I'll say so.
