What a cookie is

A small file a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to function; others watch what you do so somebody can analyse or advertise to you.

What this site uses

Strictly necessary cookies. These keep the site working and secure — for example, protecting the contact form against automated abuse, and remembering you're logged in if you happen to be an administrator. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations these don't require consent, because without them the site doesn't function.

Analytics cookies. Used only if you agree. They tell me which pages get read and where people arrive from, so I can make the site more useful. The data is aggregated — it tells me "forty people read the pricing page", not who you are.

Advertising and tracking cookies. None. This site does not carry advertising pixels, and it does not share your browsing with advertising networks.

Your choice

Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set unless you agree to it, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser settings. Declining costs you nothing — every part of this site works either way.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies breaks a great many websites, though this one will mostly survive it. Your browser's help pages explain how.
